SRK purchases Hindi remaking rights of Kamal Hasaan's 'Hey Ram'

According to reports, superstar Shah Rukh Khan has purchased the Hindi remaking rights of 'Hey Ram' - one of the most controversial films of his career. 

Well, we just recall you that the movie was produced by actor-director Kamal Hasaan which starred Rani Mukherjee, Hema Malini, Om Puri and many other renowned stars. 

Wonderful actor Naseeruddin Shah played the memorable role of late Shri Mahatma Gandhi which released in Hindi and Tamil language. The subject created controversies during its release in 2000, where the political parties opposed in the context of portraying Gandhi in a bad light by the filmmaker. Shah Rukh played as archaeologists - Amjad Ali Khan. 

The movie is based on social-political issues of the Pre-Independence era and the assassination of Gandhi by Nathuram Godse. It also showed the subject of Babri Masjid. 

Kamal Hasaan has spoken several times about SRK and the memories of 'Hey Ram' that Shah Rukh brought just a wristwatch on the set of this film and now he is a brand ambassador for luxury watches. 

On the one side where SRK fans are excited to see him in 'Zero' as a dwarf, now, it will be more interesting to see whether he will portray a vital role or any character or will just look into the commercials of the 'Hey Ram'. 

Recently, Shah Rukh also met Kamal Hasaan during Hollywood actor Christopher Nolan's visit in Mumbai.
