Many tweeteratti are surprised over his sentence as the six other co-accused,- Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu, were let off by the court.

Reactions of varied shades started trickling in as soon as the news of the verdict hit the news-stall:

Chandrakant Ashok Mokal, actor and entrepreneur believes, “The case has been pending since over two decades. Why is this procrastination in delivering justice?”

Jayant Chavarkar, businessman, rues “justice is always delayed here which involves exorbitant money as court and lawyers’ fees including other expenses which are necessary to conduct court cases. For hoi polloi, it is next to impossible to bear such huge expenses.

Had this been with any commoner, there wouldn’t be such huge reaction and the case would be a low-key affair.”

Story-teller Subhash Ghai tweeted, “I am extremely shocked to hear @BeingSalmanKhan being convicted by session court but also having full trust in Indian judiciary which has many other doors to appeal for final justice whatsoever. Since, he is most loved person by industry N people for his human reasons too.”
