Met Gala 2018: Deepika Padukone’s red dress and ‘chipku’ hair invites netizens troll!

Ignorance is not always bliss. So does this happen with Bollywood’s svelte diva Deepika Padukone on international red carpets at Met Gala 2018. The lass with her penchant for adorning attires not always to impress are still an ignoramus: little knowing about the thematic demands of the show. Thus became a lame duck finding herself vulnerable to thorny criticisms.

Despite the controversy sparked by her ‘avoidable’ ensemble, the damsel in distress – Deepika, robustly stood her forte. The Padmaavat star was an esteemed invitee to one of the most prestigious international events, The Met Gala 2018. The theme this year was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

The thematic event this year expected celebs to interpret religious imageries from the world of Catholicism. The theme was expected to be reflected through their attires. While glitterati wore various headgears, crosses etc conforming the theme, Deepika allegedly 'mocked' at the theme and sported a red Prabal Gurung robe with a pulled back wet look for her hair. The theme was looking forward to heavenly bodies matching their wavelength with Catholic imagination; the red gown worn by her is considered a luciferan’s hue! Deepika and her spin-doctor find themselves in the midst of raging controversy.

The diva’s stylist Prabal Gurung came out with his defence for Deepika’s Atelier red gown saying that was inspired by the choice robes of holy cardinals, both in structure and hue.
