B-Town celebs protest against Asifa’s rape,murder; demand exemplary punishment to perpetrators!

The gory incident that has currently shocked the nation, when an eight-year-old girl was gang-raped and later murdered inside the sanctum sanctorum of a temple in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kathua locality has drawn protestors from a totally unusual quarter: Bollywood celebs.  

Wife of thespian Akshay Kumar - Twinkle Khanna, Rajkumar Rao, better-half of Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan - Kiran Rao, actress Kalki Koechlin, music composer Vishal Dadalani besides few others from the glittering world of story-spinners staged protests on Sunday demanding capital punishment to the rapist. Hang them; the shrill cry rents the air, as placard-holding celebs demand protection to women in India and harsh penal recourse to reverse the trend.
Asifa, who was merely in her pre-teens, was abducted and gang-raped and then killed by goons inside a temple in Kathua a few days ago. 

Meanwhile, the victim’s counsel – advocate Deepika S Rajawat, alleged she is receiving threats from fanatics. She rued, “I don't know till when I will be alive. I might be raped, my modesty may be outraged, I may be killed, I might be damaged. I was threatened yesterday that 'we will not forgive you'. I am going to tell SC tomorrow that I am in danger.”

The social media is flooded by tweets and trolls on this highly inflammable issue, many demanding the resignation of the PM Narendra Modi, while others ask for the amendment of the archaic law that lets off accused with ‘lighter’ penalization. However, Modi promised to ensure ‘exemplary’ punishments to the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
