Catch Shilpa Shinde, Sunil Grover, John Abraham, Kapil Dev in India’s first live comedy show

Cricket is clearly the religion of the country, and that coupled with comedy and the cream of the TV industry, is surely a winning combination. The new series 'Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan' has just started and is already a hit with the viewers. The live format of the comedy show seems to be lapped up by the audience. The stellar star cast – Shilpa Shinde, Sugandha Mishra and Sunil Grover – has won hearts all over.

Producer Preeti Simoes says that she has been getting a wonderful response for the show. “The response has been very encouraging. I have been doing comedy for the last ten years. But this show is different. The live format is thrilling to be part of. We didn't want to take regular comedy faces in the show because that is expected. So the idea was to put people who have never been seen on a platform like this, like Kapil Dev, and make them interact with our actors. We can’t monitor or doctor their reactions. We don’t get edit time and cannot add fake laugher. If something goes wrong, it goes wrong, we cannot correct it.”

The recent episode had actor John Abraham as the guest. He had come to promote his film Parmanu. John had a marvellous time participating in a quiz with Professor LBW, a self-proclaimed cricket expert essayed by Sunil Grover as well as interacted with the other actors.

Needless to say, cricketer Kapil Dev is the highlight of the show. “We wanted to combine the two worlds of comedy and cricket and Kapil sir was the ideal connect. He is doing very well in the show,” says Preeti.

So, if you want your regular dose of cricket as well as entertainment, 'Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan' is the show for you. You can catch it on SaturdaySunday at 10:30 pm on Colors. You can also log on the MyJio app to watch the live episodes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7.30 pm.
