“Business rivals behind demolition-game!”, says Sonu Sood’s counsel on BMC notice to Sood

Actor Sonu Sood, known for his powerful performance in Salman Khan starrer Dabang-1 as chief antagonist, is recently in the news all for the wrong reasons. The Brihan Mumbai Mahanagarpalika (BMC) has issued an order to demolish the ‘unauthorized’ constructions he made in his restaurant, said his counsel Makrand Raout. Sood – who has rented his Versova-based structure to a restaurateur, has moved to a city court which says unless producing a reason-order, the civic body can’t go ahead with its demolition plans.

Earlier in 2017, on a similar notice by the BMC, Sonu Sood approached the court which had granted status-quo, thereby preventing its demolition.

Meanwhile, against the BMC’s current show-cause notice 351, Sood’s counsel replied with documents attesting to the authorization of the structure. Despite this, the BMC threatens to demolish what they still consider ‘unauthorized’ construction.  Makrand informed that the structure existed since past many years.

“We moved to a city court, which ruled that without a reason-order the civic agency can’t go in for any demolition,” said Makrand.

Makrand believe the hands of a few business rivals behind this. “They have made complaints against the lawful construction of my client. Based on this the BMC served demolition order.”
