CDR Scam: Udita Goswami grilled by Thane cops!

After Ayesha Shroff, wife of Jackie Shroff, it’s now the Paap (2003) actress Udita Goswami who has been questioned by the Thane police on Wednesday for unlawfully procuring call records of her better-half Mohit Suri by an advocate in 2014.

The CDR scam has taken a new turn when Paap actress Udita Goswami is found to be allegedly involved in unlawfully procuring call records of her director husband Mohit Suri, with the help of an advocate in 2014. Thane crime branch grilled her for an hour on Wednesday and obtained clinching evidence to nail few others involved in this drama. Suri accompanied her to the crime branch office.  

She confessed before the cops that the call records of Suri was provided to her by her attorney who reportedly advised her to it check it  and clear her doubts about any particular phone numbers.

“Udita procured the CDRs of Mohit for personal reasons a couple of years ago in 2016. The CDRs were given to her by lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, who got them from Palekar and one more accused. Siddiqui has a shady past behind him - was arrested and later released on bail in the same case. We have arrested Palekar while the other accused, who is suspected to be a private detective, are absconding,” a Thane cop informed media persons.

The case first broke open on January 24 triggering shock-waves in Bollywood after the Thane crime branch held four private detectives for unlawfully procuring and later selling call records. Of the total of 14 arrested one belongs to an Assam police, former woman constable Rajani Pandit, and working as a private detective, besides others.

Ayesha Shroff, wife of seasoned actor Jackie Shroff, too was grilled and her statement was recorded in the CDR scam.
